16 Years!

Sixteen years ago, I embarked on a journey that would change my life in ways I never expected. It all started on a humble Blogspot page, where my goal was to share my excitement and passion for SecondLife. At the time, I was working as a scuba diving instructor, unsure of where life would take me next.

But what I did know was that the internet fascinated me, and I wanted to be part of it.

The Beginning: From Scuba Instructor to Blogger

When I first started this blog, I had no idea what blogging really entailed. I just wanted to document my experiences with SecondLife, a platform that allowed users to create and explore 3D environments. It was an exciting, virtual frontier, and I quickly fell in love with the idea of building things online.

During this period, my passion for creating things—from virtual worlds to blog posts—began to grow. I wasn’t just playing around; I was exploring the potential of the internet, eager to share my journey with others.

Exploring SecondLife and Online 3D Environments

In those early years, most of my content revolved around SecondLife. The platform was like an open canvas where you could build entire 3D environments from scratch. It was here that I first learned how deeply gratifying it was to create something digital and then share it with a community of like-minded individuals.

Blogging became my outlet to document this experience. Through SecondLife, I met countless people, collaborated on various projects, and began to immerse myself in what would eventually become a deeper passion: building things online.

My Journey into Web Development

As time passed, my interests expanded beyond virtual worlds. I started diving into web development, learning how to create blogs, websites, and even web applications. Some of these projects were complex, while others were more straightforward, but the process of building and creating never stopped fueling my enthusiasm.

This journey was about more than just coding; it was about problem-solving and pushing the boundaries of what I could create on the internet. Each new challenge taught me something, and I’ve been fortunate to meet many brilliant people along the way—though, admittedly, not all of them were great to work with!

Looking Back: 16 Years of Growth

Looking back over the last 16 years, I’m struck by how much I’ve grown both personally and professionally. But one thing that has remained constant is my passion for the internet and everything related to building and sharing content online.

Through this blog and various other projects, I’ve learned so much about web development, content creation, and the importance of community. And although there have been challenges, the lessons learned have shaped who I am today.

A New Beginning?

Fast forward to today, and here I am, rediscovering this blog after all these years. I found it in a GitHub repository, dormant and untouched. And you know what? I think it’s time to breathe life back into it.

With everything I’ve learned over the past decade and a half, maybe it’s time to share some of those experiences here again. I’m excited about where this blog might go in the future.

What’s Next?

As the internet continues to evolve, so does my interest in it. Going forward, I’m excited to use this blog as a space to share what I’m working on now, my thoughts on the latest trends in web development, and perhaps even some reflections on where the internet might be headed next.

Stay tuned for more updates. It feels like this blog is waking up after a long slumber, and I’m excited to see where it leads!

Let’s keep building things together!
